TITLE: HVAC Technician
SALARY: Dorchester School District Scale M6 based on education and experience. (M6 Scale)
DEPARTMENT: Facilities
LENGTH OF CONTRACT: 245 days
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must have an excellent working knowledge of commercial HVAC installation and maintenance.
2. Must have the ability to work without direct supervision.
3. Must be licensed to drive in South Carolina.
4. Must be computer literate with the ability to utilize the existing automated facility maintenance management software.
5. At a minimum, must possess an EPA Clean Air 608 Certification.
6. Prefer HVAC License
7. Must have OSHA training including "lock-out, tag-out" procedures.
8. Must have the physical ability to work in all building areas, roofs, basements, crawlspaces and under all environmental conditions.
9. The individual must be able to work in all weather conditions.
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: HVAC Supervisor/Director of Facilities
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. This position will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of HVAC systems associated with the K-12 educational facilities.
2. This individual shall be responsible for new and expanded installation of HVAC systems throughout the district including schools, offices, trailers and all facilities in accordance with local, state and national electrical codes.
3. Assist On-site Maintenance technicians with maintenance issues and instructions and training to enable them to perform simple HVAC maintenance.
4. This individual will also perform other duties as assigned by the HVAC Supervisor or Director of Facilities.
