DonahueFavret Contractors, Inc., is seeking a strategic and hands-on, experienced Human Resources Manager to lead and manage day-to-day operations and programs of our HR function. This is a department of one role responsible for developing and executing people strategies that support the company’s culture, people-first values, and long-term goals.
Ideal candidates for the Human Resources Manager position will work independently, handle crucial conversations with ease, and bring professional, practical solutions-oriented leadership to a close-knit team. This role oversees all HR functions including talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, learning and development, performance management, compensation and benefits, and culture initiatives. Experience in the commercial construction industry or a closely related field is strongly preferred.
What You'll Do:
- Serve as the primary point of contact and advisor on all HR-related matters.
- Manage daily HR operations including recruiting, onboarding, compliance, employee relations, and offboarding
- Support leadership in promoting employee engagement, development, and retention
- Administer performance management and employee development programs that align with company values
- Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and company policies
- Maintain accurate HR documentation, benefits records, and personnel files
- Coordinate with the Safety Director to support safety-related compliance and communication
- Assist in tracking key HR data and metrics to inform operational decisions
- Help foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, and respect across the organization
What We're Looking For:
Education
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Preferred: SHRM-CP/SCP and/or PHR/SPHR
Experience
- Minimum: 5 years of professional experience in Human Resources
- Preferred: 8 years of progressive HR leadership experience in the commercial construction industry or similar field

Work Schedule:
Standard office hours:
Monday-Thursday: 7am - 5pm, Friday: 7am - 11am
Occasional extended hours or schedule flexibility may be required based on business needs.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods, move through an office environment, use hands and arms, talk, hear, and view a computer monitor for extended periods. Lifting up to 15 lbs occurs occasionally.
