As our People & Culture Manager, you'll run day-to-day HR for a growing, multi-state construction company (≈100 employees). You'll partner with operations and administrative leaders to ensure our HR programs are executed consistently, legally, and with a people-first mindset.

Key Responsibilities Include
- Oversee execution of HR policies and programs (recruiting/onboarding, training & development, employee relations, compensation & benefits planning/administration).
- Recruitment & onboarding: manage full-cycle hiring for hourly field roles and administrative (remote/in-office) roles; coordinate offers, background checks, I-9s, onboarding, and first-90-day success.
- Employee relations: coach leaders, support investigations, and help resolve workplace issues promptly and fairly.
- Training & development: coordinate compliance and leader training; support performance management practices and career development.
- Comp & benefits: support pay practices and administer benefits; be the go-to resource for employee questions.
- Compliance: ensure compliance with EEO, FMLA, and FLSA, plus state/local requirements across TN, VA, MD, PA, NC, and TX.
- Manager support: assist line managers in applying HR programs to departmental operations (discipline, performance coaching, hiring, transfers, separations).
- Employee/candidate support: answer questions about HR policies, benefits, leave, and hiring processes; make HR accessible to field and remote teams.
Required
- 3 years of progressive HR experience (supporting both hourly and salaried populations)
- Strong working knowledge of EEO, FMLA, and FLSA (wage/hour and timekeeping exposure)
- Proven experience advising managers and handling employee relations matters with discretion
- HRIS/ATS proficiency and strong documentation skills
- Ability to travel to jobsites/offices as needed; valid driver's license
- Construction/skilled trades industry experience
- Multi-state HR experience (especially with dispersed field teams)
- SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR certification
