Job Title: Project Manager – Steel Industry
Reports To: Director of PMO

Position Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing projects within the steel industry, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards. This position requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, as well as a comprehensive understanding of steel fabrication and erection processes. PMP certification is not required; however, relevant industry experience is essential.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of steel-related projects from initiation through completion.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
- Serve as the primary liaison between clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
- Prepare and deliver project status reports to stakeholders.
- Coordinate with shop and field personnel to resolve technical and logistical issues.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3–5 years of project management experience in the steel industry (fabrication, erection, or related fields).
- Strong knowledge of steel structures, fabrication processes, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with AISC standards and OSHA safety requirements.
- Experience with ERP systems and cost control processes.
- Knowledge of welding, cutting, and shop operations.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in both office and field environments.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to travel to job sites as required.
