Position Summary

The Lobby Lounge Server is responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service to guests in the resort's lobby lounge and bar areas. This role creates a welcoming and engaging atmosphere by delivering attentive, personalized service while maintaining high standards of quality, professionalism, and hospitality. The Lobby Lounge Server works closely with bartenders, food runners, culinary teams, and leadership to ensure a memorable guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Service

• Greet guests promptly and professionally, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and provide menu recommendations.
• Serve food, cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages according to established service standards.
• Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests.
• Ensure guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience and address concerns professionally.
• Build rapport with guests and create a personalized experience that encourages repeat visitation.
• Present guest checks accurately and process payments according to company procedures.

Food & Beverage Operations

• Maintain expert knowledge of menu offerings, daily specials, cocktail selections, wine lists, and resort amenities.
• Verify guest age and ensure compliance with all responsible alcohol service requirements.
• Deliver food and beverages efficiently and according to quality standards.
• Assist with maintaining proper stock levels of service items, glassware, and supplies.
• Ensure tables, lounge seating areas, and service stations remain clean and organized.
• Complete opening, closing, and side-work duties as assigned.
• Assist with special events, holiday programming, and resort functions as needed.

Sanitation & Safety

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service guidelines.
• Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal health regulations.
• Ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and safe.
• Report safety concerns, equipment issues, or guest incidents promptly.
• Handle food and beverages according to established sanitation procedures.

Teamwork & Support

• Work collaboratively with bartenders, food runners, bussers, hosts, culinary associates, and leadership teams.
• Support fellow team members during peak business periods.
• Participate in pre-shift meetings and ongoing training programs.
• Assist with maintaining outlet appearance and operational readiness.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental and resort objectives.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong customer service and hospitality skills.

• Ability to provide attentive service in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of food, wine, spirits, and cocktail service preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask while maintaining professionalism and service standards.
• Ability to handle cash, process transactions, and accurately manage guest checks.
• Commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous serving experience in a restaurant, hotel, lounge, bar, or resort environment preferred.
• Luxury hotel or resort experience preferred.
• Food Handler Certification required or obtainable upon hire, as required by law.
• Responsible Beverage Service Certification required or obtainable upon hire, as required by law.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
• Fluent in English (verbal and written); bilingual skills are a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Predominantly indoor work environment.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and carrying trays.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
• Frequent communication requiring hearing, speaking, and visual acuity.
• Ability to maneuver safely through crowded restaurant and lounge environments.

Additional Information

• Regular attendance and schedule flexibility are essential.
• Associates must comply with all Dolphin California Hotel Management, LLC policies and safety standards.
