Huerta Foundation (DHF) offers unpaid internship and volunteer opportunities for individuals seeking meaningful experience in social justice, nonprofit operations, and community organizing. Interns may serve in a variety of departments including Archives, Civic Engagement, Administration, Education, or Development and Communications. These roles are intended for educational or professional development and may be supported by outside institutions or fellowship programs. DHF does not provide compensation or employee benefits for interns.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Responsibilities vary by department and may include:Assisting with administrative, archival, research, or outreach projectsSupporting event planning, community education, or campaign logisticsParticipating in program development or content creationDrafting or editing outreach materials, reports, or internal documentsSupporting data entry, communications, or digital organizing effortsConducting research to inform departmental initiativesQualifications:Interest in DHF’s mission and commitment to social and racial justiceStrong communication, organization, and collaboration skillsAbility to work independently and take initiativeBasic proficiency in office software and digital toolsMust be at least 18 years of agePolicies & Expectations:Interns/Volunteers are not employees of DHF and are not entitled to wages or benefitsInterns/Volunteers must follow all DHF policies and procedures, including:Sexual Harassment PreventionNon-Discrimination and Equal OpportunityConfidentialityWorkplace Conduct and SafetyInterns/Volunteers may be required to complete a background check and sign a formal agreementInterns/Volunteers are expected to report concerns, request support, and behave professionally
