Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service to enhance their market experience
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently for sales transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Assist vendors with product displays, merchandising, and stocking to ensure attractive and organized booths
- Conduct product demos and educate customers about the origin, benefits, and uses of various items to boost sales and engagement
- Upsell products by recommending complementary items and informing customers about special deals or new arrivals
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the market area, including restocking shelves and managing inventory levels
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when communicating with vendors or customers over the phone
- Support bilingual customers by providing clear communication in multiple languages when needed
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and assist in resolving customer inquiries promptly
Qualifications
- Previous retail sales or cashiering experience preferred; familiarity with grocery store operations is a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with diverse customers
- Experience supervising or leading teams is advantageous but not required
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions, making change, and performing retail math calculations
- Knowledge of POS systems and cash handling procedures essential for smooth transactions
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, lifting moderate loads, and stocking merchandise
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve our diverse community effectively
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to foster positive interactions at all times
