Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team. In this role, you will be the face of our grocery store, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience for all customers. Your responsibilities will include handling transactions, assisting customers with inquiries, and maintaining the overall appearance of the store.
Duties
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process customer transactions.
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and addressing concerns.
- Assist in merchandising and stocking shelves to ensure products are well-displayed and available.
- Conduct product demonstrations to promote new items and encourage sales.
- Engage in upselling techniques to enhance the customer shopping experience.
- Maintain accurate cash handling procedures, including balancing cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts.
- Supervise junior staff members when necessary, providing guidance and support.
- Utilize strong phone etiquette to assist customers over the phone as needed.
- Perform basic math calculations for transactions and ensure retail math accuracy.
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales or a grocery store environment is preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- must be able to speak spanish and english.
- Knowledge of espresso machine is a plus, but we offer training.
- Familiarity with cashiering duties and cash handling procedures is essential.
- Basic math skills are required for accurate transaction processing.
- Experience in merchandising and stocking is beneficial.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
