Job Overview
We are seeking a responsible and energetic Dog Walker to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing safe, engaging, and professional dog walking services to our clients’ pets. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for animal care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle various breeds and temperaments. This paid position offers an opportunity to work outdoors while making a positive impact on pets and their owners.
Responsibilities
- Walk dogs of various sizes and temperaments in accordance with client instructions
- Ensure the safety and well-being of animals during walks
- Provide basic pet care, including feeding, administering medication if necessary, and cleaning up after animals
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ behavior and needs
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper animal restraint techniques
- Handle animal behavior issues calmly and professionally
- Assist with pet sitting or overnight in-home care when required
- Follow all safety protocols related to animal handling and outdoor work
Qualifications
- Prior experience in dog handling, animal care, or pet sitting preferred
- Knowledge of dog training, animal behavior, and veterinary procedures beneficial
- Ability to handle animals safely and confidently, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Strong customer service skills with clear client communication
- Experience with pet grooming, kennel work, or veterinary assistance is a plus
- Outdoor work experience and familiarity with animal restraint techniques essential
- Ability to work independently while maintaining professionalism and reliability
