Dog Caregiver (Counselor)
Summer and PT positions available.
$17-$20 an hour depending on experience.
Looking for flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
The DOG is the Hudson Valley’s leading dog training company. For over 15 years, our staff of trainers, counselors, drivers and client service personnel have worked together to provide world-class service to an elite clientele.
We are currently seeking 2-3 Dog Caregivers (Counselors).
Counselors are directly responsible for the care and oversight of their assigned dogs. They engage in games and activities, feed and settle their groups for nap time, and maintain the cleanliness of their play areas, ensuring the safety and comfort of all campers. Successful candidates must be willing to manage dogs of all sizes, exercise good judgment, and be willing to roll up their sleeves to keep everything clean.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Supervise playgroups of all sizes to ensure a safe, stress-free environment.
- Feed & water dogs; assist with walks and clean up afterwards.
- Work with Training Staff to address behavioral issues proactively using redirection and positive reinforcement.
- Help maintain a clean and odor-free facility.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Timeliness and reliability are essential. We are caring for live animals.
- Nights/weekends/holidays as needed – flexibility is a must!
- Transportation required.
This is an entry level position, but we prefer all our team members to have experience in group and like to promote from within. Training provided.
