What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Server/Bartender position at Doffo Wines LLC?
The primary function of the Event Server/Bartender is to safely serve food and beverage to event guests for all wedding, catering and social events at Doffo Winery. This position will also assist in setup, cleanup and other duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team. The Events Server creates an amazing guest experience at Doffo Winery and to carries out the company mission to create guests for life by creating a rich and lasting experience.
MUST BE 21 FOR WINE SERVICE
Responsibilities:
- Prepares the event venue as instructed by supervisor to include linen, service ware and glassware, with attention to detail.
- Attends pre-shift meetings before events to learn function particulars in order to exceed the guests’ expectations. Understands and executes Banquet Event Orders
- Sets up and replenishes all buffets and food stations, including coffee breaks.
- Serves food and/or beverage in the order and to the expectation of the supervisor to ensure consistency and efficiency throughout the event.
- Follows all health and safety regulations and maintains event cleanliness in front and back of the house.
- Assists fellow associates as needed and is a team player
- Greets guests with a smile and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Promptly removes dishes as guests complete each course or meal.
- Replenishes beverages as necessary and ensures guest satisfaction.
- Clean up after the event according to the supervisor specifications.
- Bussing and clearing of all debris and dirty plates, silverware and glasses.
- Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
- Comfortable working on feet for long periods of time
- Must be able to bend, squat and lift up items up to 75lbs on a regular and continuing basis.
- Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
- Create and foster an environment of teamwork by helping fellow employees or guests without a second thought
- Arrive on time and be respectful of attendance and punctuality
- Must be available to work holidays and weekends
- Maintains a professional appearance at all times, consistent with company guidelines
Job Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Minimum of one-year experience in the food service industry
- Proven ability in communication and a collaborative work environment
- Creative, energetic outgoing personality with organizational skills and attention to detail
- Service experience preferably in catering and private event functions
- Must have practical knowledge of steps of service, food preparation and social customs of etiquette, especially in regard to private events
- Food Handler Certification and ABC Responsible Beverage Service Certification required
- Must be available on Saturday and Sunday
Compensation:
Hourly rate of $16.50 per hour plus tips.
