Job Summary:

The Product Communications Lead is responsible for the messaging and outbound marketing and communication activities for Dodge products, presenting products in ways that will strengthen the brand and boost sales. This role requires a creative and quantitative thinker with technical communication skills, familiar with various product marketing techniques associated with asset creation and product launch initiatives. The goal is to support the success of product categories through profitable marketing tactics.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Execution:

  • Collaborate with product management to align communication strategies with product roadmaps.
  • Develop and maintain a content calendar for all product-related communications.
  • Prepare and coach company spokespeople for interviews and speaking engagements.
  • Conduct regular competitive analysis to inform positioning and messaging.

Content Development and Management:

  • Craft compelling product narratives and value propositions that resonate with target audiences.
  • Oversee the development of product-related visual assets by working closely with the Creative Media team.
  • Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines and maintains a consistent voice.

Stakeholder Engagement and Management:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders (e.g., product management, sales, etc.) to understand customer pain points and tailor messaging accordingly.
  • Coordinate product showcases at conferences and trade shows with the Digital Marketing and internal events team.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 5 years developing and executing marketing and communications strategies.
  • Proven experience in product marketing or communications, preferably industrial product marketing.
  • Experience in market research and analysis.
  • Familiar with product marketing tactics (e.g., integrated marketing campaigns).
  • Working knowledge of web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, WebTrends).
  • Strong knowledge of content development for omnichannel distribution.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Keen attention to detail with strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; adept at building relationships with different stakeholders.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite and marketing-related software programs (e.g., CRM platforms, marketing automation tools).

Physical Demands:

  • Extended periods of sitting at a workstation.
  • Speaking in person and over the telephone or Teams online.
  • Ability to type, reach, and grasp.
  • Intermittent standing and walking within the office environment.
  • Ability to travel and stay overnight as needed.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive, multi-channel communication strategies for products.
  • Create detailed initiative plans for new product launches, major releases, and focused messaging strategies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all marketing and communication inquiries for responsible product categories.
  • Conduct regular meetings with product managers, engineers, designers, and developers.
  • Develop and implement an internal communication strategy to keep all employees informed about product and service launches.
  • Create materials for and support training for sales, engineering, and customer support teams.
  • Maintain an internal knowledge base of product information and communication materials.
  • Conduct regular content audits to identify gaps and opportunities.
  • Analyze data from various sources to inform marketing and communication strategies.
  • Create and deliver reports on initiative and strategy performance with recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of company products and services.
  • Assist and collaborate with product management in creating and executing product marketing tactics.
  • Develop, manage, and execute messaging for promotions of products.
  • Develop and execute product marketing strategies and initiatives.
  • Translate technical details into benefits for the user.
  • Follow and analyze market trends to position products.
  • Craft compelling messages consistent with brand positioning across marketing channels.
  • Work with various teams to create and implement messaging for products that align with strategic priorities.
  • Test marketing features, releases, and ad copy for products.
  • Evaluate projects using relevant KPI data and feedback from existing and prospective customers.
