What are the responsibilities and job description for the Case Manager position at Do Good Daniels Family Foundation?
The House of Do Good Case Manager plays a key role in supporting survivor clients through their healing and self-sufficiency journey while residing in our transitional housing program. Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Case Manager provides survivor-centered, trauma-informed care including assessments, goal planning, individualized service coordination, and regular check-ins to help each client thrive and #DoGood in their lives and communities.
This role requires strong interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of trauma, and the ability to support clients from diverse backgrounds with compassion, structure, and accountability. The Case Manager works in close partnership with internal staff and external service providers to ensure each resident receives consistent support and access to the resources they need to achieve long-term independence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Case Management
Conduct intake assessments and orientation for new residents Develop individualized service and safety plans in collaboration with each client
- Facilitate weekly check-ins with residents to monitor goals, provide support, and address barriers HOUSE OF DO GOOD CASE MANAGER
- Connect clients with resources including legal aid, education, childcare, mental health, housing, and employment services
- Provide ongoing progress tracking, documentation, and quarterly reassessments in accordance with funder and program requirements
- Support residents in attending critical appointments and meetings, providing accompaniment or referrals as needed
- Work closely with program staff to coordinate services and ensure consistency in care
Client Empowerment & Advocacy
- Help residents build life skills, confidence, and capacity through strengths-based support
- Advocate for client access to culturally appropriate, survivor-informed community resources
- Ensure confidentiality and the emotional and physical safety of all residents
- Uphold client rights and provide support that reflects their values, goals, and lived experiences
- Identify barriers to service and assist clients in navigating systems and overcoming obstacles
Team Collaboration & Program Support
- Collaborate with Program Manager and Shelter Advocates to maintain a structured, welcoming, and healing environment
- Participate in weekly team meetings, case reviews, and trainings
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and case notes in both hard copy and database systems
- Provide after-hours crisis response on a rotation or as assigned
- Assist in developing program workshops, support groups, or wellness activities
- Contribute to program development, continuous improvement, and cross-team coordination
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, or related field OR 5 years of equivalent experience working in direct service with vulnerable or housing-insecure populations
- Minimum of 2 years experience in case management or direct client services
- Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed, client-centered care
- Experience working with survivors of domestic violence or similar populations HOUSE OF DO GOOD CASE MANAGER
- Strong documentation, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and respond to crisis situations Proficiency in using digital case management systems and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace
- Must have a valid California Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel locally as needed
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bilingual (Spanish or other community language)
- Familiarity with Los Angeles County social service systems and housing navigation resources
- Knowledge of DV dynamics, trauma recovery models, and safety planning
- Experience working in a residential or shelter setting
- Understanding of CalOES and LA City grant compliance standards (preferred but not required) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

- This is a full-time, exempt, on-site position based in Los Angeles.
