The Wet Utilities Department supports the underground utility systems by properly backfilling and compacting trenches after pipe installation.
To Be Considered For The Role, You Must
- Ideally 1 year of experience installing underground utilities (we are willing to train the right candidate)
- Reliable transportation to and from the job site.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

- Work under the direction of the pipe layer to support daily trench and pipe installation operations
- Shovel, spread, and grade gravel bedding material in the trench prior to pipe placement
- Assist in assembling and connecting pipe systems (sanitary, water, storm), including the use of basic hand and power tools
- Help grade and level the top of the pipe bedding envelope, measuring gravel depth to ensure compliance
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area within the trench and surrounding site
- Support the crew with general tasks as needed to maintain productivity and workflow
