A national law firm is seeking a skilled Litigation Associate to join its New York office. This role focuses on securities and complex commercial litigation and offers hands‑on involvement across all stages of litigation while working closely with senior attorneys and clients.
What You’ll Do:
- Conduct in‑depth legal research and analysis on securities and complex commercial litigation matters using tools such as Westlaw
- Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation‑related documents
- Manage all aspects of discovery, including document production, interrogatories, and exhibit organization
- Participate in depositions, court conferences, hearings, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings
- Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and litigation planning
- Assist with trial preparation, including witness preparation and case file management
What You Bring:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in New York; New Jersey admission a plus
- 4–8 years of litigation experience, specifically in securities and complex commercial matters
- Strong knowledge of civil procedure and evidence rules, with experience in state and federal courts
- Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
- Proficiency in legal research and case management software
- Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, and public‑speaking abilities
