Requirements
Financial Analysis and Reporting
- Analyze financial data, transactions, and program expenditures to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations and policies.
- Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports, forecasts, and budget analyses.
- Monitor program funding, obligations, expenditures, and balances to support effective financial management.
- Review and validate financial documentation and supporting records.
- Assist in the preparation of financial status reports and management briefings.
- Identify trends, variances, and potential financial risks and recommend corrective actions.
- Utilize government financial and accounting systems to process, track, and report financial transactions.
- Reconcile financial records and resolve discrepancies between accounting systems and supporting documentation.
- Maintain accounting controls and ensure compliance with established financial management procedures.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of financial transactions and records.
- Support budget formulation, execution, and financial planning activities.
- Assist with audits, inspections, and financial reviews by providing documentation and analysis as required.
- Ensure financial transactions are properly substantiated and documented.
- Support program managers and leadership by providing financial analysis and recommendations.
- Monitor contract funding and expenditures to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
- Assist with the development and implementation of process improvements to enhance financial operations and reporting.
- Coordinate with government and contractor personnel to resolve financial issues and inquiries.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in program financial analysis, accounting, budget execution, or financial management.
- Experience supporting federal government contracts, programs, or agencies.
- Experience analyzing financial transactions, performing reconciliations, and preparing financial reports.
- Working knowledge of government accounting and financial management systems, including:
- Wide Area Workflow (WAWF)
- Comptroller Financial Information System (CFIS)
- Commanders’ Resource Information System (CRIS)
- FMSuites
- Defense Enterprise Accounting and Management System (DEAMS)
- Government-approved accounting systems
- Knowledge of federal appropriations and the stages of accounting.
- Understanding of accounting principles, financial management practices, and internal controls.
- Ability to analyze financial transactions and identify discrepancies.
- Ability to reconcile financial records and maintain accounting accuracy.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial reporting tools.
- Ability to communicate financial information effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) financial management operations.
- Knowledge of federal budgeting, appropriations law, and fiscal policy.
- Experience with audit support and financial compliance reviews.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or equivalent.
- Work is typically performed in a professional office environment and may include support at government facilities.
- Position may require occasional travel to support program reviews, meetings, or financial audits.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any security clearance, background investigation, or government credential required for contract performance.
