Production Scheduler | Metals Manufacturing | Elyria/Lorain, OH Area
A well-established metals manufacturer in the Elyria/Lorain, Ohio area is seeking an experienced Production Scheduler to join its operations team. This is a critical role responsible for developing and managing production schedules that maximize efficiency, balance capacity, and ensure on-time delivery for customers.
The ideal candidate will have experience in production planning within a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoy working cross-functionally to solve problems, improve processes, and support operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate, and maintain production schedules to meet customer demand and operational goals
- Evaluate production capacity, material availability, and labor resources to create realistic and efficient schedules
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules based on changing priorities, equipment availability, and customer requirements
- Analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improved scheduling performance
- Communicate schedule changes proactively with production, sales, customer service, and customers when necessary
- Partner with Operations and Manufacturing teams to resolve scheduling conflicts and maintain workflow efficiency
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to production planning and scheduling
- Generate production reports and performance metrics to support operational decision-making
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field preferred
- 5β10 years of production scheduling or production planning experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of production processes, capacity planning, and inventory management
- Experience with production scheduling software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Lean Manufacturing or Value Stream experience is a plus
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
