Our client, a global industry-leading manufacturer, has hired us to find a Packaging Engineer in the northern Columbus Area. The Packaging Engineer will lead the design, development, and implementation of innovative packaging solutions that enhance product performance, consumer appeal, and manufacturing efficiency. This position supports North American operations, driving improvements in cost, sustainability, and production processes while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed packaging specifications and ensure quality, consistency, and cost-effectiveness across manufacturing and co-packing locations.
- Evaluate and recommend new packaging materials, technologies, and systems to support product innovation and improvement.
- Design and validate packaging that protects product integrity and meets performance standards through the supply chain.
- Analyze packaging costs and identify opportunities for waste reduction, efficiency, and pallet/container optimization.
- Lead technical trials, cross-functional projects, and supplier evaluations to implement packaging enhancements and manufacturing improvements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or 7–10 years of professional experience in packaging engineering or product development.
- Strong knowledge of packaging materials, design translation, and artwork/printing processes.
- Familiarity with European packaging standards and product lifecycle management tools preferred.
Salary : $75,000 - $95,000
