Key Responsibilities
- Develop project scope documents, deliverables, timelines, and bid packages for capital projects
- Review equipment design for alignment with engineering principles, company standards, and relevant codes
- Determine project staffing needs and coordinate with internal teams
- Develop accurate timeline, budget, and cost estimates for capital engineering projects
- Prepare Capital Expenditure Requests (CERs) to support project authorization
- Oversee technical studies, product design, specifications, test plans, and construction activities
- Provide regular updates on project milestones and adjust schedules as needed
- Maintain oversight of project spending and ensure adherence to approved budgets
- Coordinate with technical teams to resolve engineering and design challenges
- Direct integration of new construction with existing operations
- Approve design changes, specifications, and drawing revisions
- Ensure site technical drawings remain accurate and updated
- Interface with internal stakeholders to communicate project status and needs
- Lead continuous improvement efforts for capital engineering processes
Required Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to work effectively across teams
- Familiarity with EPA, OSHA, NFPA, OSHA PSM, DOT, and other applicable standards
- Strong understanding of safe work practices and contractor management
- Ability to analyze complex problems, interpret technical information, and make sound decisions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to travel to vendor sites and conduct negotiations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
- 7 years of experience managing capital projects, preferably within a chemical plant environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and other relevant software
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (role not eligible for sponsorship)
Salary : $120,000 - $150,000
