Key Responsibilities

• Develop project scope documents, deliverables, timelines, and bid packages for capital projects
• Review equipment design for alignment with engineering principles, company standards, and relevant codes
• Determine project staffing needs and coordinate with internal teams
• Develop accurate timeline, budget, and cost estimates for capital engineering projects
• Prepare Capital Expenditure Requests (CERs) to support project authorization
• Oversee technical studies, product design, specifications, test plans, and construction activities
• Provide regular updates on project milestones and adjust schedules as needed
• Maintain oversight of project spending and ensure adherence to approved budgets
• Coordinate with technical teams to resolve engineering and design challenges
• Direct integration of new construction with existing operations
• Approve design changes, specifications, and drawing revisions
• Ensure site technical drawings remain accurate and updated
• Interface with internal stakeholders to communicate project status and needs
• Lead continuous improvement efforts for capital engineering processes

Required Skills & Abilities

• Demonstrated leadership and ability to work effectively across teams
• Familiarity with EPA, OSHA, NFPA, OSHA PSM, DOT, and other applicable standards
• Strong understanding of safe work practices and contractor management
• Ability to analyze complex problems, interpret technical information, and make sound decisions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to travel to vendor sites and conduct negotiations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
• 7 years of experience managing capital projects, preferably within a chemical plant environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and other relevant software
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (role not eligible for sponsorship)
