Overview
The Program Specialist ensures high‑quality, person‑centered services for individuals receiving residential and community supports. This role oversees ISP implementation, monitors service delivery, ensures regulatory compliance, and supports staff in meeting the needs, rights, and goals of each individual. The Program Specialist serves as a key liaison between the agency, Supports Coordinators, families, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Individual Support & ISP Oversight
- Ensure each individual’s ISP, outcomes, and support needs are implemented consistently across all settings.
- Participate in ISP meetings, annual reviews, and team discussions.
- Complete monthly progress notes, quarterly reviews, and documentation required by ODP.
- Monitor behavioral, medical, and social needs and ensure follow‑up occurs.
- Advocate for individual rights, preferences, and community inclusion.
Regulatory Compliance
- Maintain compliance with ODP regulations, including 6400, incident management, rights, and documentation standards.
- Conduct regular home visits, file audits, and compliance checks.
- Ensure timely reporting and follow‑up of incidents, investigations, and corrective actions.
- Support licensing preparation and respond to audit findings
Staff Support & Training
- Provide coaching and guidance to Direct Support Professionals and Lead Staff.
- Train staff on ISP outcomes, protocols, rights, and person‑centered practices.
- Ensure staff understand and follow behavioral plans, medical protocols, and safety procedures.
Communication & Coordination
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Supports Coordinators, families, and external partners.
- Communicate changes in plans, needs, or supports to staff and leadership.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and agency planning efforts.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and professional documentation.
Quality Assurance
- Track and analyze service delivery, outcomes, and compliance indicators.
- Identify gaps in service and recommend improvements.
- Support agency quality initiatives and person‑centered planning efforts.
- Ensure documentation meets ODP standards for accuracy and completeness.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Education, or related field (required by ODP).
- At least 3 years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Strong understanding of ODP regulations, ISP processes, and person‑centered planning.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between program sites.
- Experience in residential services or community-based IDD programs.
- Familiarity with EIM, HCSIS, and electronic documentation systems.
- Training in trauma‑informed care, behavioral supports, or medication administration.
- Competent with use of Therap for docuemntations.
Pay: $25.00 per hour
