Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Daycare Assistant to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will support the daily care and development of children in a nurturing environment, ensuring their safety, engagement, and growth. This role is essential in creating a positive and enriching experience for young learners, from infants to preschoolers, while assisting with classroom activities and routines.
Responsibilities
- Support lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development.
- Assist with supervising children during playtime, meals, naps, and other daily routines.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times by adhering to safety protocols and first aid procedures.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Engage children in educational activities that foster social, emotional, and cognitive skills.
- Support children with special needs or disabilities as needed, promoting inclusive practices.
- Communicate effectively with parents and team members regarding children's progress and needs.
- Assist with diapering, feeding, and basic caregiving tasks for infants and toddlers.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, nannying, babysitting, or classroom settings.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus.
- Strong classroom management skills and ability to foster a positive learning environment.
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team dedicated to early childhood education.
