Position overview:
The Welder Combination is responsible for welding pressure vessels and structural steels by assembling pieces of metal together or repairing damage in metal components using heavy machinery that emits high heat, melting the metal into shape, following standard welding procedures and techniques to optimize Flux Cored Arc, Stick, MIG, TIG, and plasma welding processes on steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and nickel materials.
Responsibilities:
- Weld materials for pressure vessels and structural steel products using the correct materials to join the metals together. Pressure vessel welding must meet all applicable ASME and TEMA specifications and pass X-Ray, die penetrant and visual inspections.
- Weld MIG, TIG, and stick pressure vessels and structural steels
- Measure and cut materials to specifications.
- Read and understand blue prints according to weld specifications and blue prints prior to starting a project.
- Review engineering change orders (ECO’s) and implement desired changes.
- Source the materials to be used in the project.
- Use quality assurance instruments.
- Check finished work to make sure that it falls within the tolerances marked on the blue prints.
- Follow all standardized processes, including safety policies and PPE requirements.
- Ensure equipment is maintained and quality standards are met with all products.
- Adhere to 5Sstandards daily and participate in Kaizen events.
Qualifications:
- 3 years minimum MIG,TIG, stick welding experience in manufacturing environment or combo of education/training and work experience.
- Vocational School or Technical Training required. Welding Certificate preferred.
- Ability to pass ASME coupon tests and obtain ASME Certified Combination Welder
- Ability to handle light and average weight parts.
- English comprehension is a must.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools.
- General understanding of mechanical blueprints and highly sophisticated equipment.
- Ability to listen and learn from instructions.
- Positive attitude to support company policies and ability to participate in the department's training programs and all 5S initiatives.
- Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing responsibilities.
- Work overtime as needed when business demands require.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Salary : $30 - $35
