Summary: This position serves as a lead in the food service department, planning, Ordering, preparing, serving meals, performing cleaning duties, and completing required paperwork.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Performs some or all of the following tasks. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manages the kitchen in preparation of meals.
- Prepares food from scratch and from packages.
- Serves food, cleans kitchen, and washes dishes, pans, racks, etc.
- Orders food supplies and receives and verifies delivered orders.
- Stocks and rotates food supply.
- Completes required paperwork.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; food handler certification. Thorough working knowledge of materials and methods used in quantity meal preparation and the ability to prepare large quantities of food without loss of quality. Skill in the use and maintenance of kitchen equipment. Knowledge or willingness to learn basic nutrition and the US Department of Agriculture nutrition standards.
Interpersonal Skills: Works well with others. Focuses on solving conflict; Maintains confidentiality; Contributes to building a positive team spirit.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, operating and maintenance instructions, governmental regulations, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have general knowledge of computer operation, order processing software, and word processing software (Google platform).
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Food handler’s certificate; USDA/ODE Professional Standards Training.
