This position is located in Burlington, Vermont.
Applicants must possess a J.D. Degree, be an active member of the bar (any U.S. jurisdiction), and have at least 1 year post-J.D. legal or other relevant experience.
Proof of active bar membership in good standing is required.
United States citizenship is required.

Applicants must also have litigation experience, excellent writing skills, superior oral communication skills, and a demonstrated capacity to function in a highly demanding environment with minimal guidance.

The office has approximately 20 Assistant United States Attorneys and 24 support staff, which support both the criminal and civil divisions. Duties of Criminal Assistant United States Attorneys
The office is currently seeking applicants to fill one Assistant U.S. Attorney position in the Criminal Division. Assignments will include responsibility for all phases of criminal prosecution, from providing guidance to law enforcement officers, initiating criminal charges, conducting grand jury proceedings and trials, handling appeals, and asset forfeiture matters.
The position currently being filled will investigate and prosecute cases involving illegal immigration, illegal trafficking of dangerous drugs and human beings (and related violent crime), and targeting the Cartels and Transnational Criminal Organizations designated as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTO) and Specially Designated Global Terrorists (SDGTs).
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
