Insurance Defense Associate
Location: New York City, NY (Hybrid)
Salary: $130,000 – $190,000 (dependent on experience)

A respected multi-practice law firm in New York City is seeking an Insurance Defense Associate to join its growing litigation team. This role is well-suited for an attorney looking for greater ownership of their caseload, hands-on trial experience, and a clear path for long-term career progression.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a full caseload of insurance defense matters from inception through resolution, including trial
• Handle all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, and court appearances
• Develop case strategies and provide practical legal advice to clients
• Collaborate with colleagues while maintaining autonomy over your matters

Candidate Profile

• 4–10 years of experience in insurance defense litigation
• Proven ability to independently manage cases through trial
• Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred: premises liability, professional liability, motor vehicle/auto liability, and construction-related claims
• Admission to the New York Bar is required; additional admission in NJ, CT, or PA is a plus
• Strong litigation, analytical, and communication skills
