Senior Tax Manager | $150,000–$180,000 | Atlanta, GA (Hybrid)

This Senior Tax Manager opportunity is with a growing CPA firm in Atlanta with a practice spanning domestic and international tax, accounting and business advisory.
You’ll lead complex corporate, partnership and individual tax engagements while becoming increasingly involved in planning, structuring, transactions and the consequences of doing business across states and borders.
There will still be returns to review.
But considerably more of your time will be spent deciding what should happen before they are prepared.

What you’ll be doing:
- Lead complex federal and state tax compliance engagements
- Review corporate, partnership and individual tax returns
- Advise clients on tax planning and structuring opportunities
- Manage complex partnership and pass-through entity matters
- Support clients with multistate and nexus considerations
- Become involved in international and cross-border tax matters
- Advise businesses expanding into or operating across the United States
- Support transaction, restructuring and M&A-related tax projects
- Review tax provisions and assist with ASC 740 matters where applicable
- Research and interpret new tax legislation
- Assess how legislative changes affect clients and their businesses
- Manage senior client relationships
- Review work prepared by Managers, Seniors and Associates
- Mentor and develop members of the tax team
- Manage engagement budgets, workflow and deadlines
- Identify additional planning and advisory opportunities
- Work closely with Partners on complex client matters and practice development
What they’re looking for:
- Active CPA License
- 8 years of public accounting/tax experience
- Previous Tax Manager or Senior Manager-level experience
- Strong federal income tax knowledge
- Experience reviewing complex business tax returns
- Strong partnership and corporate tax experience
- Experience with S Corporations, C Corporations and partnerships
- Strong tax planning and advisory experience
- Multistate tax exposure would be valuable
- International or cross-border tax experience would be an asset
- ASC 740 experience would be beneficial
- Experience managing significant client relationships
- Strong people leadership and staff development experience
- Comfortable balancing technical tax work with commercial client advice
- Previous CPA firm/public accounting experience required
