What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tax Manager position at Distinct | North America?
Tax Manager CPA | Jupiter | Partner Track
I left this meeting with pages of notes about the firm and the one thing I kept coming back to wasn't the clients, the growth plans, or even the opportunity itself.
One of the firm's leaders blocks out every Tuesday and Thursday evening to watch his grandson's Jiu Jitsu classes. Those evenings are non negotiable. Nobody questions it. That's just how the business is run, and that mindset runs through the whole firm. People are encouraged to put family first, not apologise for it.
You learn a lot about a firm from the things people mention without thinking.
Family isn't a slogan here and it isn't something written on a careers page because every firm feels they have to say it. It's part of the way decisions are made every day.
The opportunity has come about following the acquisition of a well respected small CPA firm in Jupiter. The previous owner is retiring after 20 years of building trusted relationships across the local community, and the new owner is investing in the next chapter.
What's interesting is who that new owner is.
They've already built a successful High Net Worth Tax Advisory and Wealth Management, the tax has grown from nothing to a seven figure practice in just a few years, and now they're combining that expertise with an established local CPA firm to create something even stronger.
This isn't a turnaround project. It isn't a private equity flip. It's a long term investment in people, relationships and the future of the firm.
You'll work closely with high net worth individuals and privately owned businesses, reviewing returns, advising clients and becoming one of the key people helping shape the Jupiter office.
If you already have a book of business, that's fantastic. If not, they're just as interested in someone who enjoys building relationships, becoming part of the local business community and wants to grow alongside the firm.
The culture is genuinely collaborative and the hours are sensible. Success isn't measured by who stays in the office the latest.
There's a clear route to Partner and, more importantly, the people around you actually want to help you get there.
Compensation is competitive and reflects your experience. On top of that, you'll receive 50% of any revenue you generate, giving you the chance to build something that's yours as well as the firm's.
If you're looking for a firm where you can build a long term career, enjoy life outside of work and join a leadership team that's creating something exciting in Jupiter, I'd love to tell you more.
