35 hour weeks outside busy season.

That probably tells you more about this opportunity than a paragraph about how wonderful the culture is.

This is a 40 person CPA firm looking for a Tax Senior who likes public accounting, but would quite like it to take up a little less of their life.

Busy season runs around 55 to 60 hours for roughly 8 weeks. Outside of that, 35 hours is normal, with around 40 hours around the September and October deadlines..

The working setup is very flexible and hybrid. You need to live close enough to meet clients and get into the office when needed, but there is flexibility around how you structure your week.

There is a longer term reason to look at this one too.

The firm is consistently winning new clients without investing heavily in marketing. With the current partner group, they need people coming through who want to progress. Nobody is going to force partnership on you, but if that is where you eventually want to go, there is opportunity here.

The client base includes a significant amount of nonprofit work, alongside service businesses, insurance, manufacturing and family owned companies. Nonprofit tax experience is particularly useful, and 990PF experience would be a big plus.

You might be perfectly happy where you are.

But if 35 hour weeks, flexibility and somewhere to progress sound better than another year of doing exactly the same thing, it is probably worth a conversation.
