General Litigation Associate
Raleigh
$130,000-$220,000 DOE
We are supporting a well-established and growing law firm that is seeking a talented General Litigation Associate to join its expanding litigation team. This opportunity is available to attorneys located in Raleigh.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently manage a diverse caseload from initial case assessment through trial or resolution.
- Develop and execute litigation strategies in collaboration with clients and senior attorneys.
- Handle all phases of discovery, including written discovery, depositions, expert coordination, and motion practice.
- Draft persuasive pleadings, dispositive motions, and other litigation-related filings.
- Represent clients at hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and court appearances.
- Maintain strong client relationships by providing strategic legal counsel and regular case updates.
Practice Areas
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work across a broad range of civil litigation matters, including:
- General Liability
- Premises Liability
- Medical Malpractice
- Construction Defect
- Transportation & Auto Liability
- Additional complex insurance defense and civil litigation matters
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar admission in the applicable jurisdiction.
- 2 years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense or a related civil litigation practice.
- Experience managing cases with increasing levels of autonomy.
- Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities with the capacity to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Client-focused mindset with a collaborative approach to working within a litigation team.
