What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Project Manager position at DIRECT Staffing Solutions, LLC?
Responsible for assigned projects from award through warranty period. Collaborates and coordinates with associated departments to ensure all documenting is complete and on schedule. In collaboration with other staff, assists in establishing or establishes an installation schedule for all projects based upon completion date. Has fiscal responsibility for bringing projects in at cost or below. Addresses technical and contractual issues in order to meet clients’ specifications of performance while ensuring assigned projects meet major milestones and budgets.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assists in producing project proposals.
- Coordinates with field supervision on matters involving scheduling, job scoring, manpower, etc.
- Reviews contract and scope of work.
- Reviews and approves job set-up.
- Develops estimates for labor and materials needed and places orders accordingly.
- Communicates and works with third party and subcontractors to ensure plan stays on target and meets budget.
- Schedules value and billing set up.
- Submits and tracks RFIs and change order generation.
- Assists in resolving site/project conflicts.
- Submits and tracks submittal process.
- Establishes and monitors project scoring.
- Coordinates project closeout requirements, including training.
- Plans and conducts pre-job meetings.
- Coaches, counsels and motivates assigned staff and has responsibility for employment decisions.
- Stays up to date with industry trends and innovations through training, memberships, etc.
Required Skills/Competencies:
- Thorough and complete knowledge of building/zoning regulations and codes.
- Detail oriented with excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Excellent judgement and decision making. Good time management skills.
- Good mathematical ability; ability to project profits.
- Proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook, as well as Windows XP/7, estimating software, accounting software, Adobe, etc.
- Prior supervisory experience where delegation of work, employment decisions were made is helpful.
Key Must Have’s:
- Bachelor degree and/or years of equivalent experience.
- 6-10 years of PM type experience (in the field experience, Asst PMs experience and/or Estimating experience or a combination of them all).
- Should have good knowledge of electrical systems, building management systems, HVAC, Lighting and fire alarm, etc. Should be able to read blueprints (they need this overall knowledge so they understand how the different systems go into a building plus the electrical).
- Should understand AZ building/Zoning codes.
- Knowledgeable to OSHA requirements.
- Must have previous supervisory experience where they delegate work, take employment decisions (hire/fire/supervise).
- Should be technical in regards to MS office suite, understand excel, budgets, monitoring program costs, financial reporting of projects.
- Experience with Procore or Fieldwire is a plus.
- Should have estimating skills (They use McCormick to estimate).
- Organized, Customer friendly, Good client relationship building skills.
- Detailed oriented as there are a lot of pieces moving around, Good time management skills.
- Project management certification helpful.
- Travel: Yes, Daily in the field, Local within 30 miles of the greater Phoenix Metro area
Salary : $120,000 - $140,000
