Direct Counsel represents a well-regarded Am Law firm seeking a Senior Private Wealth Associate to join its Austin office. This is a premier opportunity for an experienced trusts & estates attorney to work with high-net-worth individuals and families on sophisticated wealth planning and transfer strategies.
This role offers significant responsibility, including leading matters, mentoring junior team members, and serving as a key advisor to clients.
What You’ll Do:
- Design and implement advanced estate planning strategies for high-net-worth clients
- Draft complex estate planning documents, including revocable trusts, ILITs, SLATs, GRATs, and IDGTs
- Advise on gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning
- Structure transfers of business interests, QSBS stock, and real estate assets
- Oversee trust and estate administration, including modifications, decantings, and terminations
- Conduct sophisticated, multi-jurisdictional estate planning analysis
- Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and support staff
What We’re Looking For:
- 4–8 years of trusts & estates or private wealth experience
- Strong background in high-net-worth estate planning and tax strategy
- Experience managing complex matters independently
- Leadership ability and experience mentoring junior team members
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
- LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning strongly preferred
- Strong academic credentials
- Active Texas Bar admission (or eligibility) required
