Direct Counsel is seeking a Senior Commercial Litigation Associate or Counsel to join a growing and sophisticated commercial litigation practice in Wilmington. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced litigator looking to take on a leadership role in complex business disputes while working closely with clients and attorneys on high-profile Delaware litigation matters.
The ideal candidate will have 7 years of commercial litigation experience, including substantial experience litigating matters before the Delaware Court of Chancery.
Responsibilities
- Handle complex commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Develop and execute litigation strategy in sophisticated business disputes
- Conduct legal research and draft dispositive motions, briefs, memoranda, and other substantive filings
- Take and defend depositions
- Manage discovery, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation
- Work directly with clients on case strategy, risk assessment, and dispute resolution
- Mentor junior attorneys and collaborate with litigation teams across offices
- Represent clients in proceedings before the Delaware Court of Chancery and other litigation forums
Qualifications
- 7 years of commercial litigation experience
- Significant experience practicing before the Delaware Court of Chancery
- Superior legal research, writing, and motion drafting abilities
- Experience taking and defending depositions
- Trial and/or substantial trial preparation experience
- Strong academic credentials
- Excellent analytical, communication, and client management skills
- Ability to independently manage sophisticated litigation matters
- Active Delaware Bar admission required
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $240,000 – $260,000
- 4x4 Hybrid Model (in-office Wednesdays plus four additional in-office days per month)
