Direct Counsel is representing an Am Law 100 firm seeking a mid-level Environmental Associate to join its Environmental Practice Group in Denver. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse client base across industries and on high-impact environmental matters.
Key Responsibilities:

Advise clients on matters involving environmental and natural resources law, including regulatory compliance and litigation.

Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, briefs, and client communications related to air and water quality, hazardous waste, natural resources development, and federal/state environmental regulations.

Represent clients in matters before administrative agencies and in state or federal court.

Assist with environmental due diligence and risk assessment in transactions.

Collaborate with cross-practice teams and provide timely, practical legal advice.
Requirements:

4–6 years of environmental or natural resources law experience, including litigation.

Strong academic credentials, legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

Experience with federal/state environmental law, water law, and regulatory agencies.

Ability to manage deadlines, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively.

Admission to the Colorado Bar required; admission to other western state bars a plus.

Prior experience at a law firm, court clerkship, or government agency preferred.
Preferred Experience:

Judicial clerkship or background with a national or top-tier regional law firm, Department of Justice, or state Attorney General’s office.
