Corporate M&A Attorney - Los Angeles

Direct Counsel is representing an Am Law 50 law firm seeking a Corporate M&A Associate Attorney to join its Downtown Los Angeles office. This position offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic and nationally recognized M&A practice spanning a wide variety of industries.

Attorneys collaborate on sophisticated transactions involving clients ranging from startups and emerging businesses to Fortune 500 companies and multinational corporations across sectors including aerospace, defense, consumer products, entertainment, financial services, food and beverage, manufacturing, retail, and technology.

Responsibilities

• Handle complex M&A transactions from inception to closing.

• Draft, review, and negotiate substantive transactional documents.

• Manage deal teams and coordinate with clients and internal stakeholders.

• Provide strategic legal guidance and ensure timely, accurate execution of deals.

• Work closely with senior attorneys and clients on sophisticated, high-value matters.

Qualifications

• 5–6 years of experience at a top national law firm focused primarily on mergers and acquisitions.

• Significant hands-on experience executing M&A deals from start to finish.

• Strong academic credentials from a top-tier law school.

• California Bar admission required.

• Exceptional analytical, drafting, and communication skills.

• Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Compensation

• Annual salary range: $365,000 – $390,000

• This position offers a competitive compensation package and excellent growth potential.
