Responsibilities
- Handle substantive aspects of complex commercial litigation and disputes throughout the litigation lifecycle.
- Draft and respond to complex discovery requests and manage discovery-related matters.
- Research, draft, and assist with arguing motions and other substantive litigation briefs.
- Prepare for, defend, and conduct depositions.
- Conduct witness interviews and assist with witness preparation.
- Participate in discovery conferences and negotiate and communicate directly with opposing counsel.
- Assist with pre-trial preparation, case strategy, and oral advocacy.
- Support matters involving trial and appellate proceedings, as well as mediation, arbitration, and other forms of dispute resolution.
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of substantive litigation experience.
- Active admission to the Massachusetts State Bar is required.
- Hands-on experience with complex discovery, motion practice, depositions, witness interviews, and pre-trial preparation.
- Experience communicating and negotiating directly with opposing counsel.
- Experience conducting discovery conferences.
- Experience arguing motions and/or assisting with appellate matters.
- Strong academic credentials.
- Excellent legal research, writing, communication, and analytical skills.
- Strong judgment and commitment to excellent client service.
- Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a sophisticated, fast-paced litigation environment.
Preferred Experience
- Judicial clerkship experience is preferred but not required.
- Experience handling complex commercial or other sophisticated disputes.
- Exposure to trial, appellate, mediation, arbitration, or alternative dispute resolution matters.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $225,000–$275,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Potential additional contingent compensation based on performance and other applicable factors.
