Position Overview
St. Lucy Day Care & Child Development Center is seeking a dedicated and nurturing Early Childhood Teacher to join our team. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with the approved curriculum
- Maintain a structured, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Build positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and staff
- Monitor and support children’s daily needs, including hygiene, meals, and transitions
- Track and document student progress using Teaching Strategies (for CCAP students)
- Communicate regularly with parents, including sharing student work and updates
- Ensure classroom materials, toys, and equipment are cleaned and maintained
- Supervise children at all times to ensure safety and well-being
- Complete daily rosters and ensure proper sign-in/out procedures
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and center events
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in early childhood education (daycare, Head Start, or school setting preferred)
- CDA (Child Development Associate) credential preferred
- CPR and Pediatric First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and Safe Environment training
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Ability to engage young learners through creative and age-appropriate activities
- Patient, attentive, and nurturing demeanor
- Strong communication skills with both children and adults
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and interacting at child's level
- Ability to respond quickly to children’s needs and classroom situations
