Job Title: Part-Time Cafeteria Worker
Location: St. Joseph Hessen Cassel School
Hours: Part-Time (approx. 15–20 hours/week, Mon–Fri during school hours)
About the Role
St. Joseph Hessen Cassel School is seeking a friendly and reliable Cafeteria Worker to join our school nutrition team. This role assists with daily meal prep, serving, and clean-up to ensure our elementary students enjoy healthy meals in a warm, welcoming, and faith-filled environment.
Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation & Service: Assist with simple food prep, set up serving lines, portion meals, and serve students and staff efficiently.

Kitchen Clean-Up: Wash dishes, sanitize countertops and prep stations, sweep and mop kitchen areas, and clear cafeteria tables between lunch shifts.

Point of Sale Assistance: Assist with operating the lunch line register or scanning student meal cards as needed.

Food Safety Standards: Follow strict hygiene and sanitation guidelines to ensure food safety in compliance with local health regulations.

Positive School Interaction: Interact warmly with young students, helping create a safe, orderly, and encouraging lunchtime environment.
Qualifications & Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred (prior food service experience is a plus, but not required).

Basic understanding of food hygiene and willingness to complete ServSafe or food handler training.

Successful completion of required diocesan background checks and child protection training (e.g., Virtus/Protecting God’s Children).

Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, and lift up to 25–30 lbs.
