Fragrance and Intimate Apparel Strategy & Marketing Assistant
Job Purpose and Scope
The Fragrance and IAP Strategy & Marketing Assistant will report directly to the Strategy & Marketing Manager. Candidates interested in this role must be detail oriented and have an interest in analytical research. The Strategy & Marketing team is responsible for driving and developing key initiatives, analyzing business driving data & coordinating all Marketing for the entire Dillard’s Fragrance & IAP business at Dillard’s. In this role, you will work very closely with buying team, vendor community and district field team to execute the marketing and strategic vision for Dillard’s in your areas of responsibility.
Essential Job Functions
- Pull weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for Strategy & Marketing Manager. Assist in analyzing and recapping to the field team and buying team.
- Assist Strategy & Marketing Manager in identifying geographic opportunities by brand matrix and stock ownership on a weekly basis.
- Work with the vendor community and merchants on Dillard’s IAP strategic objectives and projects to drive business.
- Utilize Circana data to benchmark Dillard’s IAP business vs the industry. Develop action plans based on data to strengthen Dillard’s market share positioning.
- Assist in analyzing key financial metrics for the entire Fragrance & IAP business and make recommendations/develop plans to show improvement year over year.
- Plan, execute, and recap all social initiatives on both Dillard’s branded platforms and paid influencer campaigns.
- Coordinate monthly email submissions and submit them to corporate advertising.
- Work with buying teams on monthly signage requests and collecting contracts from vendors. • Maintain marketing calendar and proactively anticipate any changes based on current business.
- Assist in planning & executing seasonal marketing requests.
- Analyze and build marketing recommendations based on the sales results from all marketing campaigns.
- Own and publish a quarterly business/visual directive on priorities for the IAP field team and store teams.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint & Word
•Collaborative personality and willingness to work with others
•Strong organization, communication, problem-solving and data analytical skills
•Ability to manage due dates and deadlines
•Must be willing to travel as needed based on projects and partnership requests
•Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior leadership and generate actionable recommendations
Position Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- 4-year Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Retail or Business related field.
- Basic or intermediate understanding of retail math.
- Photoshop or Adobe editing skill set is a plus.
- Comfortability utilizing Canva presentation/asset creation
- Experience working in a retail environment is preferred.
- Must have a passion for retail and fashion & consumer behavior trend analysis.
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple complex assignments and projects and successfully see them to completion.
- This role will partner and work closely with Buying Teams in office. Must be collaborative and comfortable working with numerous team members, while holding everyone accountable to deadlines and due dates.
- Looking for a candidate who can creatively look at the business and come up with new approaches or ways to analyze and look at the business.
- Will be expected to learn Dillard’s internal reporting systems and external reporting systems to analyze business and or marketing projects.
