Dillard’s is seeking a passionate, visionary Sales Director to lead our Jewelry and Handbags area. The ideal candidate is a leader who thrives in a dynamic environment, inspires high-level service, and is committed to growing our business through training, innovation, and trend-setting leadership.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the Jewelry & Handbag departments with vision, energy, and a passion for fashion and accessories.
Drive exceptional customer service standards, building a service culture that delights and inspires.
Embrace a growth mindset—fail fast, learn fast, and take calculated risks to drive innovation in education.
Develop, write, and execute training content from scratch; facilitate both in-person and virtual trainings at a high level.
Identify training needs and partner with the Jewelry/Handbag Education Director to close gaps and elevate store performance.
Invest in and mentor Jewelry/Handbag leadership, building ASM’s business acumen and coaching stylists/specialists to excel.
Has the ability to drive results, foster meaningful connections, and inspire behavior change while remote.
Leverage all available tools (Learner Mobile, CONNECT, Google Sites, DASH, etc.) to maximize training, communication, and results.
Stay on top of industry trends and translate them into actionable strategies for the department.
Actively engage with the buying team, DMM, and GMM to support initiatives and communicate store needs and wins.
Develop and execute in-store events to drive engagement and sales.
Collaborate with other Sales Directors to share ideas and leverage best practices.
Represent the area with leadership, advocating for the Jewelry/Handbags and influencing direction.
Effectively direct ASM’s, stylists and stakeholders to the right decision-makers for projects and questions.
Demonstrate strong business acumen, time management, and the flexibility to travel and adapt to changing schedules and environments.
Lead by example – set the standard in service, business results, and work ethic.
Grow the business to $750 million.
Meet turn rate goals consistently.
Maintain a gross margin over .45+.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Retail Management, Education, or related field
Preferred: Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Organizational Development, or Leadership & Development
5+ years of progressive retail experience in luxury/fashion/accessories, with a strong background in sales leadership
MINIMUM YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

Success in coaching and developing leaders (stylists, area sales managers, store managers)
Experience translating corporate training strategies into field execution
High-level communication skills; comfortable facilitating both in-person and virtual trainings.
