Graphic Designer, Advertising

Position Description: The graphic designer plays a very important role within Dillard’s in-house advertising department, creating compelling designs copy to promote Dillard’s merchandise in various advertising pieces—primarily email campaigns. Position is located in Little Rock at our Corporate Headquarters (no remote work available.)

Core Responsibilities

• Works collaboratively with creative director and copy & merchandise teams to design layouts for Dillard’s advertising pieces, including: emails, signs, direct mail, etc.
• Works with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and occasionally Adobe Illustrator to create graphics and imagery
• Manages all aspects of an email's production including: layout/organization, cropping images, creating graphics, building and testing links, and trafficking the email through stages of review and approval
• Produces all work in accordance with Dillard’s design standards
• Maintains a strong understanding of Dillard’s brands, customer profiles and broader fashion industry trends

Qualifications

• 1 years experience in graphic design using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
• Experience designing for e-commerce, email or digital advertising and ability to provide examples of previous work
• Strong understanding of fundamental visual design including layout/composition and color
• Experience managing multiple projects at once, while adhering to deadlines and producing the desired results
• College or associate degree in related field and/or Professional Certification required
• Experience with HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, and JavaScript or responsive (adaptive) design are a huge plus, as are illustration and animation skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Should possess high emotional intelligence and a willingness to collaborate and accept/offer constructive feedback
• Should be self-motivated and highly organized
• Must be comfortable working under tight deadlines
• Preferred candidates will possess an interest in fashion, commerce, popular culture, current events, advertising trends, etc.
