Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Human Resource Assistant I to support HR operations at Sysco Columbia. This role will assist the HR Manager and HR Business Partner (HRBP) in executing HR initiatives, onboarding processes, and day-to-day administrative activities. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, basic HR knowledge, and experience with Workday and MS Office tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the HR Manager and HRBP with daily HR operations and administrative tasks
- Coordinate and assist with new hire onboarding and orientation sessions
- Prepare onboarding materials, badges, and orientation packages
- Maintain and scan employee records and documentation
- Assist employees with system access and login issues
- Support HR processes such as:
- Onboarding & offboarding
- Exit interviews
- Leave administration
- Unemployment claims
- OSHA reporting
- Guide employees and supervisors on HR policies and procedures
- Assist Talent Acquisition and hiring managers with recruitment activities
- Support payroll-related tasks and maintain the eTime system
- Help drive employee engagement and inclusive workplace initiatives
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 0–3 years of experience in Human Resources or administrative support
- Experience with Workday is required
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team environment
- Reliable attendance and professionalism
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Prior experience supporting HR functions or working in a corporate environment
Work Schedule Options:
- Option 1: Mon 8:30–4:30, Tue 9–5, Wed 9–5, Thu 9–2
- Option 2: Mon 8:30–4:30, Tue 9–5, Wed Off, Thu 9–5, Fri 9–3
Additional Information:
- No overtime expected
- 100% onsite role
