Job Summary:
Our Client is looking for a Senior Platform / DevOps Engineer to join their Enterprise Technology Platform Engineering team. This role focuses on building, automating, and operating large-scale cloud-native and event-driven platforms using Kubernetes and modern DevOps technologies. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Kubernetes, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, cloud platforms, and Java/Spring Boot-based microservices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, deploy, automate, and manage production-grade Kubernetes clusters (EKS/AKS/GKE)
• Build and maintain self-service developer platforms and reusable deployment templates
• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or Flux
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Ansible
• Deploy, containerize, and manage Java/Spring Boot microservices on Kubernetes
• Configure observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, and distributed tracing tools
• Work with service mesh technologies like Istio or Linkerd and API gateway patterns
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve deployment automation, scalability, reliability, and developer productivity
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimize Kubernetes platform performance
• Mentor junior engineers and support Agile/Scrum delivery processes
Primary Skills (Must Have):
• 5 years of hands-on Kubernetes and DevOps experience
• Strong expertise in Kubernetes internals: RBAC, autoscaling, Helm, Kustomize, Operators, and networking
• Experience with Docker and container image management
• Strong CI/CD experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or Flux
• Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform and Ansible
• Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP including networking and IAM
• Strong observability and monitoring experience using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch
• Experience with service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
Secondary Skills (Important):
• 3 years of Java and Spring Boot development experience
• Experience with REST APIs and microservices architecture
• Experience containerizing and deploying Java applications to Kubernetes
• Familiarity with Maven/Gradle and code quality practices
Good to Have:
• Kafka and event streaming experience
• Experience with Kafka deployment on Kubernetes using Strimzi or Confluent
• Exposure to Kafka Streams, Apache Flink, or Spark Structured Streaming
• Experience in large-scale enterprise or financial services environments
