Position Overview

The Quality Manager is responsible for leading all quality assurance activities across the production floor, ensuring that every work cell follows consistent inspection standards, documentation practices, and corrective‑action procedures. This role also oversees warranty claim review and vendor product quality, creating a closed‑loop system that improves reliability, reduces defects, and strengthens customer trust. The Quality Manager serves as the primary leader of quality culture within Diesel Power Group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain standardized inspection procedures for all work cells.
  • Train team members on inspection methods, defect identification, and quality expectations.
  • Lead root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action activities when defects or process failures occur.
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and real‑time documentation of all inspection results.
  • Ensure traceability of parts, components, and assemblies through detailed quality records.
  • Review inspection logs for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with internal and external requirements.
  • Evaluate warranty claims by reviewing inspection records, part history, and customer feedback.
  • Determine claim validity and coordinate resolutions, including replacements, credits, or repairs.
  • Reduce warranty rates through targeted improvements.
  • Inspect incoming materials, components, and products from vendors to ensure they meet quality specifications.
  • Work directly with vendors to resolve quality issues, request corrective actions, or negotiate replacements.
  • Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across all departments.
  • Mentor and develop quality technicians and inspection staff.

Qualifications

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in quality management, quality assurance, or production manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial manufacturing, engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong understanding of inspection processes, defect analysis, quality documentation and root cause analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with warranty review processes and vendor quality management.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience with or ability to establish quality management systems (QMS).

Compensation

The estimated starting salary for this role is $85,000 - $105,000, plus performance incentives. Beginning salary is based on factors including, but not limited to, skill set, years of experience, education, and certifications.
