Job Overview

Dickey's Pit Barbecue on Hwy 24 in North Topeka is looking for a couple great folks to join our team. We smoke fresh meat daily and serve the hard working folks of North Topeka and beyond. Our crew works the line preparing food for customers and taking orders through the front door and drive through. It's a small team and we seek to make it more like a work family. Local owners are ready to remind everyone how great customer service can be! Join a team and help build that culture that will make customers happy and make the time on shift fly

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and take their food orders accurately using POS systems and drive through headsets.
• Prepare food items efficiently while adhering to food safety standards and sanitation protocols.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely to assist with food preparation and cooking processes.
• Manage customer transactions smoothly, including processing cash, credit card payments, and handling cash register operations.
• Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales through effective suggestive selling techniques.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all food handling areas meet sanitation and safety regulations.
• Assist in inventory management by restocking supplies and monitoring food safety practices throughout your shift.

Skills

• Proven experience in food preparation, quick service, or fast-food restaurant environments.
• Familiarity with POS systems
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests.
• Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy hours.
• Knowledge of food safety management, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures.
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively in a fast-paced setting.
• Basic math skills for cash handling, retail sales transactions, and inventory counts.
• Previous experience in retail sales transactions or grocery store environments is a plus.

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
