In this role, you will oversee end‑to‑end payroll processing, manage employee benefits administration, and serve as a trusted resource for employees, HR partners, and external vendors. You’ll be the go‑to expert ensuring our systems, processes, and records are accurate, compliant, and audit‑ready.
What You’ll Do
- Onboard new hires in the HRIS, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant.
- Process multi‑state payroll accurately and on schedule, including tax withholdings, deductions, and adjustments.
- Maintain and update employee records, including pay changes, hours worked, leave, and demographic updates.
- Respond to employee payroll and benefits inquiries with professionalism and clarity.
- Ensure all payroll, benefits, and onboarding processes meet federal, state, and internal compliance standards.
- Generate and curate HRIS reports to support HR and leadership needs.
- Provide technical support to HRIS users and assist with troubleshooting.
- Coordinate benefit enrollment for new hires and support employees during annual open enrollment.
- Review monthly benefit invoices, resolve discrepancies, and manage COBRA notifications and enrollments.
- Serve as a liaison between HR, IT, benefit carriers, and brokers.
- Maintain the firm’s Wrap Plan and manage annual ACA reporting.
- Track FMLA leave, send required notices, and manage premium collections.
- Open tax accounts in newly added states and manage related compliance documentation.
- Support additional HR, payroll, and benefits projects as needed.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in multi-state payroll processing
- Minimum 3 years of benefits administration experience
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Accounting, or related field preferred
- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax rules, and benefits compliance
- Experience with HRIS/payroll systems (BambooHR a plus)
- Familiarity with ACA, COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, and year‑end wrap plans
- Strong analytical skills and comfort generating HR/payroll reports
- Exceptional attention to detail, confidentiality, and organization
- Excellent communication and customer‑service orientation
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
