Position Qualifications/Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience as a Purchaser/Buyer
- At least 1 year of experience working in inventory and supply chain management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and MRP software
- Preferred QuickBooks experience
- Excellent foresight and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently
- Maintain daily purchasing activities using the forecast and MRP
- Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers
- Determine quantity and timing of deliveries
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand
- Managing supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices, timelines, etc.
- Work with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal departments
- Stay current with existing and upcoming projects (attend weekly project meetings)
- Maintain open purchase orders/backorders and ensure accuracy
- Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation
- Coordinating with inventory control to determine and manage inventory needs
- New item creation in QuickBooks
- Ensuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications
- Working to improve purchasing systems and processes
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors
- Negotiate lower pricing
- Search and source potential suppliers and vendors
- Provide reports for management
- Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms
- Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power
- Perform cost and scenario analysis and benchmarking
- Assess, manage, and mitigate risks of current market/economy trends that may affect demand
- 1st shift position
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Overtime as needed
