Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical knowledge and experience in servicing and repairing a variety of heavy machinery, including excavators, cranes, and farm equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of diesel diagnostics, as well as the ability to work with OEM parts and schematics. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including but not limited to excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractors.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostics tools and schematics.
- Conduct fabrication tasks as needed to repair or modify equipment.
- Execute repairs on hydraulic systems, transmissions, air brakes, alignment, suspension systems, and HVAC units.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for assembly and disassembly of machinery components.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment or related fields.
- Dealership experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with diesel engine repair, brake repair, welding, soldering, and electrical systems is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues effectively.
- Experience working with industrial equipment and farm machinery is a plus.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely during maintenance tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills along with attention to detail.
- Capability to lift heavy objects as needed for repairs (up to 50 pounds).
