Our client, a global law firm, is seeking a Litigation Paralegal with 3-10 years of experience supporting litigation attorneys and business services professionals by handling complex tasks and projects across all phases of litigation.
- Location: Wilmington, DE
- Salary: $90,000-$100,000
- Schedule: M-F; 9:30 am – 5:30 pm; in office 5 days per week for first 90 days then hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day remote)
- Hours: 45-55 hours per week, during peak times with trials ranging from 60-70 hours. Non Exempt
Responsibilities:
- Supports all phases of litigation, including filings, discovery, and trial preparation.
- Maintains organized and accurate client files.
- Applies knowledge of Delaware, Federal, and Chancery Court rules and procedures.
- Files documents via File & ServeXpress and PACER CM/ECF; manages service of discovery and subpoenas.
- Assists with drafting, filing, and proofreading pleadings, briefs, and legal documents.
- Performs cite-checking, case law research, and Shepardizing.
- Utilizes litigation support tools (e.g., Relativity) to manage and analyze case data.
- Supports eDiscovery processes, including data tracking, document production, and privilege logs.
- Prepares and organizes documents, exhibits, and chronologies for attorney review.
- Assists with depositions, hearings, trials, and related preparation.
- Conducts research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, and online resources.
- Tracks deadlines and coordinates with attorneys and case teams.
- Handles complex assignments with minimal supervision.
- Maintains databases and case files in accordance with firm standards.
- Trains junior staff and promotes best practices.
- Communicates effectively and manages firm resources responsibly.
- Adheres to firm policies and performs additional duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree
- 3-10 years of litigation paralegal experience
- Chancery Court Experience is a plus
- Proficient in electronic databases and document management systems
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication
- Experienced with research tools (Internet, Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER)
- Proficient in Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint; quick to learn new systems
- Ability to take on increasing responsibility
- Works well under pressure in fast-paced environments
- Effective independently and in team settings
- Maintains confidentiality with sensitive matters
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Flexible with travel and work hours
