SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) plays a crucial role in providing support and assistance to clients at Diamond House Detox. The BHT is responsible for conducting regular rounds, maintaining cleanliness in the facility, and addressing client service needs. This position requires compassion, diligence, and a commitment to the well-being and recovery of our clients.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform regular client observations to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Facilitate self-administration of medications and treatments as prescribed by providers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Monitor client behaviors, activities, and compliance with facility rules.
- Accurately document client interactions, behaviors, and any incidents in client records.
- Complete required reports and logs promptly and ensure they are up-to-date.
- Report any concerns or incidents to the appropriate staff members immediately.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary environment in all areas of the facility, including client rooms, common areas, and bathrooms.
- Follow infection control protocols and use appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Assist with laundry duties and ensure clients have clean linens and clothing.
- Provide direct support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities, meal service, and personal hygiene.
- Respond to client requests and needs in a timely and respectful manner.
- Facilitate therapeutic activities and engage clients in positive interactions.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to provide comprehensive care to clients.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to treatment planning and implementation.
- Safely operate company vehicles to perform a variety of tasks, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in behavioral health, psychology, or a related field or other credentials are a plus.
- Previous experience working in a mental health or substance use treatment setting preferred.
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to working with individuals in recovery.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality guidelines.
- Successful completion of background check, drug test, physical, and TB screening.
Salary : $21 - $25
