Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a receptionist or customer service role, preferably in a health care environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with scheduling software and electronic health records.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with health care software.
  • Bilingual abilities to assist a diverse patient population.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and health care billing processes.
  • Training in customer service excellence or patient relations.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome patients and visitors promptly and courteously upon arrival.
  • Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including verifying personal and insurance information.
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Answer incoming phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate staff members.
  • Maintain organized and confidential patient records in compliance with health care regulations.
  • Coordinate communication between patients, medical staff, and external service providers.
  • Process billing information and assist patients with insurance verification and payment procedures.
  • Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary materials.
